Paper title:
Identification of Glycyrrhizin Metabolites in Humans and of a Potential Biomarker of Liquorice-induced Pseudoaldosteronism: a Multi-centre Cross-sectional Study

Archives of Toxicology (Impact Factor: 5.74)
I am delighted to share the story of my publication journey with Editage. Let me start by saying that this one of the proudest moments of my life since I have set a new benchmark for myself by getting published in a journal with an impact factor as high as 5.74!
I think that the acceptance is largely due to the careful corrections (under time constraints) by the team involved in the Scientific Editing service of Editage, not just in terms of language and readability, but also of structure and content. I am truly grateful, and would like to share my success story, hoping that it will inspire other early career researchers to aim high and work hard towards these goals.
As a child, I desired to study medicine, to be a doctor, and to save lives. When I grew up, I specialized in medicine and started working extensively in the area of Kampo (traditional Japanese medicine) research. Considering how highly-specialized alternative medicine is, my main aim has always been to be able to share my findings worldwide to experts and non-experts in the field, alike, and Editage has helped me achieve this goal time and again.
My journey with Editage began in August 2012, when I used their premium editing service on the recommendation of my mentor. The Editage editor has consistently been my first native-English reader for many of my publications. I trust in their services and have been returning to them to try different services that cater to my publication needs at any given point of time.
For my last project, I stumbled upon their Scientific Editing service, and was very impressed by the quality delivered. This editing service makes you feel like the editor is a research collaborator, whose in-depth knowledge and specialization in my subject-area reflects in their insightful research inputs. Gaps in research communication, glitches in arguments, the clarity and conviction of my research methodology, were all promptly addressed. The person reviewing my paper asked all the right questions and suggested qualitative improvements. For example, looking at the clinical research section, the editor’s comments included queries about the temperature at which we had stored the clinical samples and whether we measured them at the hospital, or collected them together at our lab for measurement. Those questions made me notice what I had missed and that incorporating these elements will make it easier for my readers to visualize the research process.
This time my study was concerned with toxicology, which is a completely different research area from my previous papers. Moreover, I aspired to get published in a journal with an impact factor of almost 6, which is higher than any journal I had been involved with before. Therefore, I needed a more comprehensive editing service that provided more than just language editing help. Scientific Editing helped me be more precise and objective in this new field of work. The vital guidance provided by peer review helped me adhere to top journal standards of publication. A previous submission of mine to ATOX had been rejected at an early stage, which made me more anxious about being able to get it right the first time around. The Scientific Review report, coupled with the meaningful discussions I had with the editors and reviewers, was very useful, and helped me regain my confidence. In fact, I feel that the quality of this paper was superior as compared to those I had written in the past, because it was well-structured and excellently articulated. So when I received the news that it was accepted by ATOX, I was very excited. I’ve had an excellent experience with this service and would recommend it to anyone who aims for high-impact factor journals and requires a complete package of content, language and journal guidance by experts in their field of study.
